2027: Haske Dumps APC, Picks APM Adamawa Gov Ticket
Days after his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigerian politician and business mogul Abdulrahman Haske has joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as its gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 Adamawa State election.
Announcing his defection to the APM on Saturday in Yola, Haske said his decision to switch parties was motivated by the belief that the APM provides a platform to promote a people-centred development agenda and to foster a more prosperous, inclusive, and secure Adamawa.
Saturday Telegraph reports that the event was attended by APM leaders, stakeholders, traditional authorities, community leaders, youth and women’s groups, and supporters from all 21 local government areas of the state.

According to a statement signed by his Publicity Secretary, Abdulgaffar Ahmed, he emphasised that his campaign will focus on key issues such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, security, and transparent governance.
“Today is about more than joining a political party; it is about strengthening a movement committed to the future of Adamawa State.
“Our goal is to create a state where governance benefits the people, where young people find opportunities, where communities are connected to development, and where public resources are managed transparently.”
Haske also expressed gratitude to APM’s national leadership and the Adamawa State chapter for trusting him with the party’s gubernatorial ticket.
“I am grateful to the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement for their confidence in our shared vision and for giving me the responsibility to represent the party in the 2027 governorship election.
“I accept this role with humility and a firm commitment to serve with integrity, hard work, and dedication,” he added.
