The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Jennifer Adighije, has said the company is strengthening corporate governance and operational efficiency as part of efforts to improve electricity supply across the country.

Adighije spoke while welcoming two newly appointed executive directors to the company’s management team, noting that their appointments would reinforce NDPHC’s leadership and accelerate the implementation of its strategic objectives.

The new executive directors are Patrick Obahiagbon, who was appointed Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, and Chukwuma Umeoji, Executive Director, Corporate Services.

According to a statement on Tuesday, Adighije said the appointments by President Bola Tinubu formed part of NDPHC’s commitment to reinforcing corporate governance, improving operational efficiency and delivering on its mandate to expand electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure across Nigeria.

She added that the appointments also reflected the Federal Government’s resolve to reposition the company for enhanced performance and drive reforms aimed at improving electricity supply nationwide.

In welcoming the newly appointed executive management team, Adighije thanked Bola Tinubu for selecting individuals with demonstrated expertise to help advance the company’s vision of delivering sustainable value to Nigeria’s power sector.

She said the appointments marked another important milestone in the company’s transformation agenda and were expected to strengthen strategic planning, corporate governance, commercial operations, stakeholder engagement and institutional effectiveness.

Adighije emphasised that strong leadership, teamwork and collaboration were essential to delivering NDPHC’s strategic objectives, especially as the company worked to boost power generation, expand transmission infrastructure, reinforce distribution networks and harness stranded generation assets.

She noted that the experience and expertise of the newly appointed executive directors would complement the existing management team and further enhance the company’s ability to deliver on its mandate in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to her, the “strengthened leadership team will promote innovation, improve decision-making, deepen stakeholder confidence, and accelerate the execution of critical power projects”.

“The appointments will further position NDPHC to play a leading role in advancing Nigeria’s power sector reforms, improving the reliability and resilience of electricity supply, and supporting the country’s economic growth and industrial development,” she added.
